Winnona Rea, Registered Clinical Counsellor

We want to introduce our new associate Winnona Rea. With educational background and training as a registered clinical counsellor and registered occupational therapist, Winnona is experienced working with youth, adults, and families. As a counsellor, she specializes in working with individuals struggling with anxiety, stress, trauma, depression, and neurodivergent challenges. She is passionate in connecting with her clients, and is privileged in finding ways to connect, support, and gain an understanding of their lived-experiences.

To support her clients, Winnona uses an integrative humanistic and client-centred approach. She draws from her interests in learning evidence-based practices, and her training and experience with CBT, DBT, sensory and somatic approaches, and family systems and attachment theory.

She believes in collaborating with her clients to develop a holistic and tailored approach to best meet their therapeutic goals. Winnona values creating a compassionate, authentic, and collaborative space where individuals can explore their challenges and strengths, implement new skills, develop resilience, and work towards meaningful and lasting change.

Welcome Winnona!

Trauma and Stress Counselling operates on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of  the q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), q̓ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen),
Máthkwi (Matsqui) and se’mya’me (Semiahmoo) First Nations. We thank these First Peoples who continue to live on these lands and care for them, and whose relationship to these lands existed long before the founding of Canada or British Columbia.
